Patch has a Prius which ran out of warranty last month. Of course this is when it chose to go on the fritz. Sparky is not long for it's days if we don't get it fixed.
So we are faced with a decision. What now? Repairs would cost thousands. I believe we should buy a new-to-us used car. Deisel we can change to run on bio fuel? Another hybrid? Electric? Where will we get the funds? Dig into our retirement/homesteading fund?

It would largely depend on your budget and for what purpose you would be using the car. You can try to lease, as it is suitable for short-term arrangements, but if you are dead set on buying, it would be good to try a late model of the Ford Focus.

I would have to agree with Mr. Erwin. It would heavily depend on your budget and the purpose you need the car for. It would be good to scout out a few dealerships, and look at the cars they are selling. Make a note of which dealership has certain cars. This would be handy when you name drop another company’s car price when negotiating with the dealer.

Do you have any updates on the car? A sedan would be an easy pick. A Hyundai Accent has a strong engine, and it usually comes with a long warranty. This would also give you a lot of car space for not much cost.
